Sega new Sonic game : A Unique Collaboration Between Sega and Topgolf

The new game, first revealed during the latest Sonic Central showcase, is now available at Topgolf locations across the United States and Glasgow. Sega plans to roll out localized versions at additional venues worldwide by early 2025.

Unlike the high-speed, platforming adventures developed by Sonic Team for consoles, this game is designed specifically for the Topgolf experience. Developed in collaboration with Topgolf, it integrates the venue’s cutting-edge ball-tracing technology. Players can swing their golf clubs to help Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Knuckles race across iconic zones like Green Hill Zone and Sky Sanctuary, climbing leaderboards as they go.

Topgolf’s Vision for Fun Meets Sonic’s Speed

Topgolf’s Chief Brand Officer, Geoff Cottrill, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership:

“At Topgolf, we believe in the unlimited power of play and creating moments of joy for everyone who steps into our venues. The multi-generational appeal of Sonic’s iconic energy and speed gives our Players a fresh, playful way to just have a little fun together with friends and family. The new Sonic game in partnership with Sega absolutely takes the Topgolf experience to the next level.”

This collaboration aims to bring families and friends together in a fun, competitive environment that merges the excitement of Sonic with the joy of golf.

What Can You Expect?

In addition to the game, Sega and Topgolf are releasing exclusive merchandise. Visitors can purchase themed hats and t-shirts, including designs featuring Sonic holding Topgolf’s signature “The Sure Thing” club.
